Birth

United Neon was founded in 1937 and was one of the first companies in the Philippines to introduce commercial signs.

1950’s Building Landmarks

The company specialized in making signboards and rooftop neon signs. In the 1950s, some early rooftop signs were located along Roxas Blvd., Plaza Lawton, and in front of the Philippine Post Office. The “Cafe Puro” pot replica became a landmark in those days.

Late 1960s to Early 1970s Garners Awards and Recognition

United Neon won the Most Spectacular Award in the 1966 National Advertising Week, received the Excellence in Outdoor Ad in the 1969 National Advertising Congress, and won the 1st Prize in the Neon Category in 1st Annual Outdoor Advertising Awards in 1972.

Resilience Amidst a National Situation

When billboards all over the country were dismantled during the Martial Law in the Philippines, the company’s founders decided to move into the photocopy business.

The upshot of the EDSA Revolution saw the revival of out-of-home (OOH) advertising in the country. With a renewed determination and newfound initiatives, United Neon expanded its business by broadening the reach of its OOH services all over the Philippines.
